12 Facts about “Thugs of Hindostan” and it’s making.

Thugs of Hindostan might have failed to stir the audience and gather positive appraisal from the critics but it has some wonderful stories behind it’s making.

This was the first time that Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan were seen in a film together.

The film was edited in a theatre screen instead of computers, which is the first time in the history of Indian cinema.

In her streak of working with the Khans, Katrina had one thing common in the two films opposite every Khan: “Ek Tha Tiger” and “Tiger Zinda Hai” belong to same franchise; “Dhoom 3” and “Thugs Of Hindostan” are both directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya; and “Jab Tak Hai Jaan” and “Zero” both also stars Anushka Sharma.

Amitabh Bachchan had cracked his upper-left rib, but he continued to shoot despite excruciating pain, as the film’s shoot was being done on a tight schedule. Amitabh Bachchan also suffered with neck and back pain due to the heavy clothing and stunts in the film.

Aamir Khan was facing discomfort laying on his right side due to excessive pain in the ear cartilage due to ear piercing and often screamed out in pain on being touched.

Bachchan’s costume was earlier made of metal, but was later replaced with leather.

Thugs of Hindostan marked Amitabh Bachchan’s collaboration with all the star Khans (i.e. Aamir, Shahrukh and Salman Khan) of Bollywood. He has previously worked with SRK in movies like Mohabbatein & K3G and with Salman Khan in Babul and Baghban.

Aamir Khan revealed that the first day of rehearsals was a fanboy moment for him to work with Amitabh Bachchan.

While shooting at Thailand’s Koh Poda Island in a cave which is shown as Amitabh Bachchan’s hideout, Amitabh Bachchan had to be lifted in a palki to reach the location; though he tried to make it himself many a times, but found it difficult as he faced breathing problems.

Katrina Kaif had worked with the three Khans consecutively in 2012-13 (“Ek Tha Tiger”, “Jab Tak Hai Jaan” and “Dhoom 3”). She again did the same in 2017-18 (“Tiger Zinda Hai”, “Thugs Of Hindostan” and “Zero”).

“Charas” (1976) was the first Hindi film shot in Malta. After 42 years, “Thugs Of Hindostan” was shot in the country.

The film contains a scene where the Thugs led by Khudabaksh, played by Amitabh Bachchan stand as a fake giant statue for several seconds to attack on the British fleet. Bachchan had done a similar scene in his film “Coolie”, where his character fakes being a statue over a pedestal for several minutes.
