There’s hardly anything more soothing than the gentle beats of a Sufi song, with lyrics that resonate with our deepest selves. Every Music-Lover will agree that Bollywood’s love affair with Sufi music goes back decades, and over the years, this behemoth of the industry has produced some beautiful songs that have stood the test of time. And Sufism, with all of its practices has made people feel close to God in different ways, get a clearer perspective in life, give a subtle feeling of joy, peace and relaxation. 1. Kun Faya Kun (ROCKSTAR- 2011)

This song was sung during the weakest moments of Jordan (Rockstar) at the Nizamuddin Dargah. It depicts the sturdiness, restlessness & fire inside him which he is unable to vent. Sung by A.R. Rahman, Javed Ali and Mohit Chauhan this song is a masterpiece.

 

2. O Re Piya (Aaja Nachle- 2007)

“तानाबाना तानाबाना बुनती हवा, हाय बुनती हवा

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has sung this song from “Aaja Nachle” which got back Madhuri Dixit on screen after Devdas. There is a strong recollection factor attached with this hugely popular Punjabi song by Hans Raj Hans & Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan originally. The classical number is sung by Rahet Fateh Ali Khan for the film Raid.
